This course is intended to help you learn about computer programming and to give you some activities to test your skills. At the end of the course you will be able to do the following:
- Write a simple Javascript program on a computer or in a browser
- Understand how computers communicate over the internet
- Understand how to manage your code and correct mistakes
- Know what sort of code or computing you want to try next
Instructor – Bruce Devlin
Bruce runs a company called Mr MXF. He is the global head of technical standards for the Film and TV industries and can often be seen riding his bicycle in Chiddingfold. He programmed his first computer using punched cards in 1975 and some of his work powers every cinema on the planet as well as Hollywood Studios and global Television Distribution. There are too many middle aged white men like Bruce in the technology business and he hopes that by training people that don’t look like him, the future will be a more inclusive and more imaginative world.
